there are subs, you need to learn how to use your media player.
It's rare to see anime on the big screen so support it if you can!

Some media players occasionally give issues with linked Subs and such things.
Try the following players:
Media Player Classic
KM Player
VLC
I don't like VLC much, but it has never given me issues with running linked subs. Try it out.
NOTE: You have to actually select the subs after you've opened the file, otherwise it won't show. I am guessing this happened to you. Just navigate around the player's menus and options. You'll find it.

You need to turn them on manually (go into your players setting and enable subtitles)
