agth + atlas + translation agregator + replacement files + latest custom dictionary, all from hongfire = 95% accurate english translation fo almost any game

as for learning, nothing beats taking classes, and having a native speaker to talk to

Well... thank you.
However... I am really interested in learning Japanese.... The sad part is... there are no classes for Japanese here...
So.... basically... that's why I need to ask for help here. :)

ahh, gotya. well, the very first thing you need to do, is go to the library/bookstore and get a few good dictionary's (the reason i say a few, is alot of times you will find a kanji in one, and not in another, a reverse lookup dictionary is also quite handy ), and any basic "learn japanese" book that you can learn to do pronunciation. after that, its just a matter of learning common sentence structure, and memorizing kanji

if i get a chance today, ill dig out the books i have and give you specific names and isbn#'s

Try the "Japanese for Busy People" series. It was recommended to me by a Japanese teacher I know.

Also (if you like to torrent things) try searching for "Let's Learn Japanese" basic I. It has a funny and enjoyable video series that is a bit aged (70's I think)

but is a great way to learn conversational Japanese and some writing skills.
